The Kenosha Writers Guild
is a free group, open to anyone with an interest in writing. United by our love of the written word, we welcome writers of all skill levels and all genres. Our members are from southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month
Spring 2024
Both meetings will be held at the Kenosha Public Library. Please check our Facebook page or the News page on this site to see which location we’ll be at.
First Wednesday meetings will be some sort of exercise, such as writing from a prompt. Although feedback may be given following a short period of writing, this is not a critique meeting. We’ll begin promptly at 5 and end at 6:30. No need to sign up in advance, just show up!
Every third Wednesday is our open meeting at which you may share a short piece of work (no more than 4 pages) with the group. We ask that if possible, you bring 6-8 copies so that we may see as well as hear your words. There is a copy machine conveniently located at the library. This meeting offers writers the opportunity to have their work critiqued. Observers are always welcome!
