The Kenosha Writers Guild
is a free group, open to anyone with an interest in writing. United by our love of the written word, we welcome writers of all skill levels and all genres. Our members are from southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month

2026 Meetings
We meet twice a month at 5 pm at the Kenosha Public Library, usually the Southwest branch but please check our Facebook page or the News page on this website to be sure. All meetings are free and open to anyone interested in writing. https://mykpl.info/locations/southwest/
First Wednesday meetings will be some sort of writing exercise, such as writing from a prompt, or will be an in-depth critique for either prose or poetry. Writers must submit work one week prior for in-depth critiques.
Every third Wednesday is our open meeting at which you may share a short piece of work (no more than 4 pages) with the group. We ask that if possible, you bring 6-8 copies so that we may see as well as hear your words. There is a copy machine conveniently located at the library. This meeting offers writers the opportunity to get feedback on their work. Observers are always welcome!
