We welcome all writers and all those interested in writing to our open meetings, held at 6:30 pm on the third Wednesday of every month, at Kenosha Creative Space, 624 57th Street (NE corner of 7th & 57th in downtown Kenosha.)
Share a short piece (no longer than 4 double-spaced pages), comment on the work of others, or just come to observe and take in the creative atmosphere of the Space. It’s helpful–but not necessary– to bring along 4+ paper copies of your work so that we may see as well as hear your words.
Submissions are now open for our August 11 Poetry In-Depth Critique. Submission deadline is Tuesday, August 3. Submit up to 5 poems, word limit 5000. Please use Times New Roman 12 point font and submit all poems in one document to email@example.com
Please see our Guidlines page (for in-depth critiques) before submitting.
The IDC will be held Wednesday, August 11 at 6:30 pm, at Kenosha Creative Space, 624 57th St. (NE corner of 7th & 57th) in downtown Kenosha.
We’ll be meeting at Kenosha Creative Space, 624 57th St., (NE corner of 7th & 57th, downtown Kenosha) at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to share a short piece–no more than 4 double spaced pages) with the group. If possible, please bring copies so that others may see as well as hear your words. Attendance varies but on average we expect 6-8 writers. You don’t have to share your work until you feel comfortable doing so. You are always welcome to listen and comment on the work of others or just observe. You will find KWG a friendly, inclusive group offering support and a sense of community for all writers and all those interested in becoming writers. Come check us out!
Feel free to share a short piece with the group (keep the document open on your computer to share on Zoom), or just tune in to say hello and tell us what you’re up to. We offer kind and considerate critiques that focus on what’s working.
If you submit work, you are agreeing to read and critique all other work submitted. Please read our Guidelines page, In-Depth Critiques before submitting.
If you don’t want to submit work but want to participate as a reader–you’ll be asked to read and critique all submissions–please let Jim Payne ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) know by the May 4 deadline. He’ll send submissions, along with the Zoom link, to writers/readers one week in advance of the meeting.
Feel free to share a short piece (no more than 4 double-spaced pages) with the group. Keep your document open on your device and you’ll be able to share on screen so that we can see as well as hear your work.
Don’t want to share your work? Not a problem! Come listen to others, comment on what’s shared, or just chat with us a while. We’d love to meet you and hear what you’re doing.
